Privacy Policy
The short version: your private content is yours and visible only to you. We don’t sell your data, don’t show ads, and don’t use your journal, money or mood entries for anything except showing them back to you.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address, your first name (shown in the community if you post), your password (stored only as a secure hash by our login provider, so we never see it), and that you confirmed you’re 18+, live in the US and agreed to the Terms.
What you put into Fudoshen
Tasks, calendar events, habits, focus sessions, journal entries and notes, mood check-ins, goals, money and investment records you type in, canvas drawings, and your settings. Some of this, like journal entries and mood check-ins, can be personal or sensitive. You decide what to write.
Membership and payments
Stripe handles payment. We receive your Stripe customer ID, membership status and renewal date. We never see or store your card number. If you start a free trial, we keep Stripe’s fingerprint of that card (a code Stripe derives from the card, not the card number) so each card gets one trial. We keep it after an account is deleted, only for that purpose.
Technical information
Like any website, our hosting and database providers keep short-lived logs (such as IP address, browser type and the time of requests) to run the service securely and fix problems.
On your device
Fudoshen saves a working copy of your data in your browser’s storage so it opens fast and works offline. Signing out removes it from that device. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run Fudoshen: save your data, sync it between your devices, and show it back to you.
- To manage your membership and billing.
- To keep Fudoshen secure and prevent abuse, including moderating the community.
- To email you about your account (confirmations, password resets, billing and important changes). No marketing emails unless you choose to receive them.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, use it for advertising, or use your private content to train AI models.
Who can see your data
- You. Your private content is protected by security rules in the database itself, so only your signed-in account can read it.
- Other members see only what you post in the community, with your first name.
- Service providers that run Fudoshen for us, under contracts that limit how they use data: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (payments), and Google Fonts (lettering; your browser fetches fonts from Google, which sees your IP address).
- Legal requests. We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
How we protect it
All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Data is encrypted at rest by our database provider. Access rules in the database stop anyone, including someone calling it directly, from reading another person’s data. Only the owner can manage the service, and secret keys are kept on the server, never in the app.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your content and account are deleted from our live systems immediately, and your membership is cancelled. Copies may remain in our providers’ encrypted backups for up to 30 days before they’re overwritten. Stripe keeps payment records as financial law requires.
Your choices and rights
- See and download everything: Account and billing → Download my data.
- Correct it: edit anything in the app, and your community name in Account and billing.
- Delete it: delete individual items, reset whole sections in Settings → Data, or delete your account.
Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or others), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for using them. We don’t sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. To make a request, email support@fudoshen.com; we’ll respond within the time your state’s law requires.
Children
Fudoshen is only for adults 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we’ll delete it.
Where Fudoshen is offered
Fudoshen is offered only in the United States, and your data is stored with providers in the United States.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
